This guide will help you set-up and manage your link exchange system to get
maximum performance for your successful link exchange and your business promotion.

| Step 1 - Adding Link Categories [Link Categories menu] |
Now let's start. First you must setup links categories at Link Categories panel (used for Categories management).
It is a categories of websites you would like to exchange
links. These categories will be shown at your Add Link, Submit URL, etc. web pages.
- Enter your Category ID and Title (ex.: 2 and 'eMerchants') and click 'add category' button. Your newly
added category will appear at the Link Categories list. Repeat this step to add all categories of websites
you would like to exchange links.
- Also you may:
- Delete Category(ies) - by checking appropriate checkboxes and clicking 'delete' button.
- Update Category - by clicking on appropriate 'update' button.
- Sort Categories list - by clicking on appropriate list header (Category ID, Category Title).
- Search / Sort Categories - by selecting Search / Sort type and entering appropriate Search / Sort
criteria. (Note: you may use % sign with your search criteria
(ex.: search criteria 'eM%' will result eMerchants and eMarketing categories)).

| Step 2 - Creating Link Groups [Link Groups menu] |
Now create Groups of Categories at Link Groups panel used to manage groups.
Groups are used to display group related links at your Links Index and Banner.
- Enter Group Title (ex.: 'eCommerce'), set several categories to it and click 'add group' button. Your
group will appear at the Link Groups list. Repeat this step to create all Groups of website's categories
you need.
- Also you may:
- Delete Group(s) - by checking appropriate checkboxes and clicking 'delete' button.
- Update Group - by clicking on appropriate 'update' button.
- Sort Group list - by clicking on appropriate list header (Group ID, Group Title or Date).
- Search / Sort Groups - by selecting Search / Sort type and entering appropriate Search / Sort
criteria. (Note: you may use % sign with your search criteria)

| Step 3 - Adding Links [In Links menu] |
'In Links' panel you use to manage your link exchange partner links. There is also displayed link exchange
statistics and link ranks.
Links are added manually (through 'In Links' panel) or through
Add Link form by website owners themself. To add a link manually:
- Enter Link information, set categories this link belongs to and click 'add link' button. Link
will appear at the 'Incomming Links' list.
- Also you may:
- Delete Link(s) - by checking appropriate checkboxes and clicking 'delete' button.
- Update Link information - by clicking on appropriate 'update' button.
- Approve Link(s) - you must approve links after submission to become active by checking appropriate checkboxes and clicking 'approve' button.
- Check for Back-Link(B-Link) - you may check is your link exchange partner linking to your website by checking appropriate checkboxes and clicking 'check b-link' button.
- Sort Links list - by clicking on appropriate list header (Link ID, Link Title, URL, Hits-In, Hits-Out, Rank, Approvement date and Next Back Link Check Date).
- Search / Sort Links - by selecting Search / Sort type and entering appropriate Search / Sort
criteria. (Note: you may use % sign with your search criteria)

| Step 4 - Creating Your Links [Out Links menu] |
'Out Links' panel you use to manage your links you would like to exchange with your link exchange partners.
- Enter Your Link Title, URL and Description and click 'add link' button. Link
will appear at the 'Outgoing Links' list.
- Also you may:
- Delete Link(s) - by checking appropriate checkboxes and clicking 'delete' button.
- Update Link information - by clicking on appropriate 'update' button.
- Sort Links list - by clicking on appropriate list header (ID, Link Title).
- Search / Sort Links - by selecting Search / Sort type and entering appropriate Search / Sort
criteria. (Note: you may use % sign with your search criteria)

| Step 5 - Installing LinkeX Scripts into your website code [Scripts Code menu] |
You must install some scripts to get your link exchange system fully functional. There are 5 types of scripts.
- Add link page script. This script creates a form within you 'Add Link' or 'Submit your URL' web
page. Your link exchange partners use this form to submit their link information.

- Links index page script. This script creates a list of links to your link exchange partners
within you 'Links', etc. web page. Click 'Generate' to generate a script displaying links from group you select.

- Links Rating script. Use this script to rate your referrers. Each time a visitor comes from your
link partner's website to your website your link partner is rated and HitsIn value is increased by 1.
Paste this script into your home page (index.html in most cases). It must be the first webpage visitor
visits from your link partner's website.

- Banner script. This script is optional. You can paste it anywhere at your website pages.
It creates a vertical banner to display a number of your link exchange partner links.
Click 'Generate' to generate a script displaying links from group you select.

- Out links page script. This script generates a link code to your website. You may use this script
at your 'Our links', etc. web page. Also you may set to display your 'Out Links' list automatically after
your link exchange partner submits link information through 'Add Link' form by checking 'Show Out links after submit'
checkbox at Add Link settings panel.

| Adjusting LinkeX to your website design and requirements |
|
LinkeX provides you with the handy and flexible ability to manage your link exchange system visual appearance and
settings through 'Colors & Settings' panels. You can change your link exchange system appearance to ideally fit
your website design and needs by using a CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) techniques. Refer to our short
CSS style Guide at Apendix A of this help if you are not familar with CSS.

| Add link form - Settings and Appearance [Add Link Settings menu] |
Add Link Settings panel manages your Add link form settings and appearance. You
can preview results after clicking 'save settings' button. You can reset all your settings by clicking 'default settings' button.
- Style
- Background style - change Add Link form background and border appearance by changing this value.
- Edit fields style - change text boxes appearance of your Add Link form by changing this value.
- Add button cell style - change submit button's area appearance and submit button alignment by changing this value.
- Add button style - change submit button's appearance by changing this value.
- Error message style - change error message appearance by changing this value. Error message is diplayed if you submit incorrect values or no values at all through Add Link form.
- Asterisk style - change asterisk(* - required fields symbol) appearance by changing this value.
- Welcome text style - change 'Welcome text' appearance by changing this value. 'Welcome text' is displayed after successful Add Link form submission.
- Settings
- Button title - set submit button title here.
- Show Out links after submit - if this check box is checked link code to your website will be displayed after succesfull Add Link form submit.
- Welcome text - set 'Welcome text' value here.

- Separator style - set separator between spinner and links list appearance by changing this value.
- Spinner cell style - change spinner area appearance and spinner alignment by changing this value.
- Spinner 'Previous' link style - change spinner's 'Previous' link appearance by changing this value.
- Spinner 'Next' link style - change spinner's 'Next' link appearance by changing this value.
- Spinner current page text style - change spinner's 'current page' text appearance by changing this value.
- Spinner page link style - change spinner's 'link to other page' appearance by changing this value.
- Links data cell style - change single link area appearance by changing this value.
- Links data link style - change link title appearance by changing this value.
- Links data description style - change link description appearance by changing this value.
- Links data stats style - change link statistical information text appearance by changing this value.
- Settings
- Spinner position - set spinner position here. There may be three positions: top(above links list), bottom(below links list) and both.
- Pages display count - this is spinner setting. By setting it to -1 spinner is forced to display all available data pages
(data page is a block of links. For ex.: you have 20 links, 5 links on each page. So you have 4 pages of data). Setting from 1 to N displays appropriate number of data pages.
- Data blocks per page - this is also spinner setting. Set the number of links per data page to display here.
- Link separator - this is a link title and description separator symbol.
- Show Link information - use this setting to show additional link information in your links index page. You may use these
settings: (All - to display all information: Rank, Hits In and Hits Out; Rank Only - to display link rank only;
Hits In/ Hits Out - to display number or times this link was clicked and number of times your website was visited from this link;
Hits In only - to display number or times this link was clicked; Hits Out only - to display number of times your website
was visited from this link;)

- Links order - set comma separated links order here. If no value is here - links are ordered by title. To create your custom links order
you must set the position of link by entering comma separated link position value. For ex.: You have 4 links.
If this setting has no value default links ordering looks like this - '1,2,3,4'. If you set Links Order
value to '2,1,4,3' this means that your first link now will be second, second link now will be first, third link
now will be fourth and fourth link now will be third.

- BORDER-WIDTH - set a width of a border in pixels (px) or percents (%).
- BORDER-STYLE - set borders style. Available styles:'none','dotted', 'dashed', 'solid', 'double', 'groove', 'ridge', 'inset', 'outset'.
- BORDER-COLOR - set color of a border. Use RGB model(ex.: #000000 - is black, #FFFFFF - is white, #FF0000 is red...).
